Residential Reach-In Refrigeration

Residential reach-in refrigerators are often used in restaurants, hotels, cafes, and diners, but they are also a great option for the home. They are sometimes called hotel refrigerators or dorm refrigerators. They are usually smaller than commercial units, and they usually only have one door that opens to the inside. They sometimes have glass doors and can be placed against a wall or in a corner to save space. Residential reach-in refrigerators are usually stainless steel, aluminum, or plastic. Stainless steel is a durable and strong material that will last a long time. However, it is also a costly material, and most people can’t afford a stainless steel reach-in. Aluminum is a good material in the middle of the cost and durability spectrum. Plastic is affordable and works well for some applications, but it isn’t as durable as other materials. Residential refrigerators come in both side-by-side and under-counter style options. Side-by-side models are usually tall and slim to fit in a kitchen better. Undercounter models are usually cubical or rectangular chest-style units. Residential refrigerators come in various sizes ranging from 8 to 48 cubic feet. Some models have additional features, such as climate control and organizational tools. Interior compartment controls maintain the desired temperature to keep food fresh.
