Grease Interceptors

A grease interceptor has a flow rate of more than 50 gallons per minute. A grease interceptor is usually much larger than a grease trap and therefore is typically located a few feet underground, sometimes in the floor of a facility, other times outside the facility. For foodservice establishments with floor drains with high volume of waste water exiting the facility, a grease interceptor is the likely choice.

Some grease interceptors have an AGRU (Automatic Grease Removal Unit) integrated into the grease interceptor to mechanically skim grease from the surface of waste water inside the interceptor chamber.

Grease interceptors are devices that collect and separate fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from wastewater. They are commonly used in restaurants to prevent FOG from entering the municipal sewer system. The importance of grease interceptors for restaurants cannot be overstated as they help to prevent costly blockages and environmental pollution. Failure to install or maintain a grease interceptor can result in costly fines for restaurant owners. It is essential to have a professional plumber install and regularly clean your grease interceptor to ensure it functions optimally. By investing in a quality grease interceptor, restaurant owners can protect their business, community, and environment.
